Heart Monitoring

Heart Monitoring

Cardiostaff is proud to announce the creation of the AF Vigilance Program. This program utilizes the cSTAT (Cardiostaff Superior Technology in Ambulatory Telemetry), a leading edge Mobile Cardiac Telemetry device, with a convenient and easy to use post-symptom monitor. This post-symptom monitor, AfibAlert™, has been specially created for patients who have been diagnosed with AF, or are susceptible to developing AF, in an effort to accurately identify and help to quantify the amount of time a patient is in an irregular rhythm. The AfibAlert™ has demonstrated greater than 91% sensitivity, 96% specificity and 94% accuracy when compared to the MIT Atrial Fibrillation Database.

This device is recommended for patients who experience AF on a transient basis or have a history of CABG, ablation, cardiac abnormalities or are taking antiarrhythmic drugs. Patients can test themselves on a prescribed daily basis and transmit the data over the telephone to Cardiostaff’s 24 hour Paramedic Call Center.

The AfibAlert™ acts as a simple to use post event recorder that tells the patient immediately whether or not they are currently in atrial fibrillation. If the green check mark lights up following the 45 second recording process, the patient is notified that they are not currently in the irregular rhythm. If the red telephone icon is lit up, they are instructed to call into our call center for a complete history and event transmission. All transmitted events are analyzed and a complete summary report is sent to the referring physician for further treatment and analysis.
